U.S. Asphalt industry EPD Benchmark Webinar

The U.S. Asphalt Industry EPD Benchmark webinar will help state and local department of transportation (DOT) officials, asphalt mix producers and consultants to understand environmental product declaration (EPD) benchmarks for asphalt mixtures.

Attendees will gain insight into the methodologies behind the EPD Benchmark report and explore a practical application through a case study of Oklahoma DOT detailing how agency-specific industry average global warming potential (GWP) thresholds are developed.

Speakers will include NAPA Sustainable Pavements Director Joseph Shacat, WAP Director of Sustainability and SIP-108 co-author Amlan Mukherjee, and Oklahoma State University Associate Professor Deb Mishra.

This session will explain the innovative methodological framework used to develop industry average GWP reference values for asphalt mixture EPDs. The method can be used by agencies to develop GWP benchmarks for FHWA’s Low Carbon Transportation Materials Grants and other low embodied carbon procurement and project delivery programs.
